400 acres at a 9,000 foot elevation. Cutthroat camp is 19 miles southwest of Eager. It is open May to November, with snowmobile access in the winter. Big Lake is very popular among campers and families. It is stocked each spring and fall with more than 30,000 trout. Rainbow is the best yield with good catches of brookies and cutthroat trout. Facilities include a grocery store, boat rental, minor auto service repair and plenty of campsites.

Logistics:

• Depart Friday, August 28, 4:30 PM from TVLC Troop Shed. [EAT DINNER IN TUCSON - Bring a sack Dinner]
  • Last time it took over an hour of camping time to stop at McDonalds in Globe - Let's get to Camp instead!
• Return around 3:00 PM Sunday, August 30 at TVLC Troop Shed.

• Weather Report Expect highs in the upper 70s and lows at night into the 40º range.

This is a tent/car camp. Besides your fishing pole, determine what to bring by reviewing chapter 8 and 9 of the Boy Scout Handbook. Pay special attention to the checklists! If you forget it, you will need to do without. We will bring the chuck boxes.

Facilities: The camp sites we have rented have access to water, bathrooms, and showers. They are tent sites.

Cost: $10 per scout(5 for campsite, 5 for gas) plus your $15 patrol food. If you need to buy bait or a fishing license, bring money for that as well. Pay $10 to the Treasurer or Scout designee by Monday, August 24. Pay your food money to the scout patrol grubmaster for this trip.
